Baked for an hour

What my year 3 teacher taught my thermodynamics class *actually* is true. "The higher the temperature of the surrounding, the less efficient we(humans) become." Deliberate a while - I feel sleepy/tired when the afternoons get excruciatingly hot, my brain can't think... blah blah blah.

Our body is actually a Carnot engine; to be precise, a biological engine. The body acts as the heat reservoir and the surroundings as the exhaust. The larger the temperature difference (i.e. the colder the environment), the more efficient we become (even at sleeping). On the other hand, as the temperature difference approaches 0, we start to deteriorate. Forget about when the temperature difference is negative. We simply won't work!

This explains why I happen to be very veRY VERY productive at night/midnight or very early morning (4am - Yes, I have tried waking up at 4am a few times yet, i have failed to make it an habit - a habit requires you to repeat the same process for 21 days. You can imagine how hard is that for a person like me who needs around 10 hours of sleep daily).

On the topic of engines, I wonder if scientists and researchers working in companies use this exploit to report their mileage. Mysteriously, my father's toyota averages around 11km/L while the reported findings are 13km/L. It *surely* must be the engine problem.
