Idea 001

Buying a cell phone has always been a hassle for me. The waiting process, the buying process and then the service process are all wrong. The waiting takes too long and often times, there will not be enough stock for the latest phones. Then the buying process requires you to haggle - without which you are confirmed to be scammed. And the service process finally; it would force anyone to take at least a half-day leave just for it. Utterly slow. In my opinion, the whole concept is inundated with inefficiencies.

What if we had a vending machine to vend cell phones instead? The population buys handphones more than Milo and Lays Chips from what I see in Singapore (ok, this is an exaggeration, but you get the point). A vending machine would solve all the problems the effete industry faces. No waiting (maybe a little), no haggling, and service is as easy as dropping your phone into the mail box, instead, we now drop the phones back into the vending machine and let the companies handle all the hassle from there.

Isn't it brilliant?

But by the time I have reached here, i feel like doing a google search on this and realize that it has already been invented. Or at least half of it. See it here. The part of dropping your phone like dropping into the mail box is not out yet. I guess the process is not perfect. Furthermore, from the pictures in images.google, none of them seem to have a good design interface. More improvement to be made still.

I will elaborate more on the second part in my next post. For now, I have to rush off to work. Good day!
